Elizabeth (Libby) Wertz enjoys working with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing challenges associated with ADHD, anxiety, behavior management, emotion regulation, interpersonal relationships (family, friends, romantic partners), life transitions, and self-esteem. When working with children and adolescents, she strives to foster collaborative relationships with the parents, teachers, and other adults in a child’s life to ensure the most optimal clinical care. In her work with young adults, Libby enjoys helping them navigate emerging adulthood and develop skills to achieve their goals.

Libby is currently a temporarily licensed psychological associate in Kentucky. Libby is also a fifth-year graduate student in Xavier University’s Doctorate of Clinical Psychology program with an emphasis on working with children and adolescents. Her independent research project is titled Association of Parent and Child Perceptions of ADHD Symptom Severity with Treatment Engagement. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from Ohio University Cum Laude with Departmental Honors in Psychology. She has many years of both research and clinical experience working with children and adolescents who have ADHD and anxiety in private practice and school settings. She has also provided therapy services to college students through Xavier’s Psychological Services Center where she managed intake assessments and worked with therapy clients experiencing distress associated with ADHD, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, substance abuse, self-harm, and suicide. Libby is currently continuing to work with young adults while on her doctoral internship at University of Cincinnati’s Counseling and Psychological Services. Here, she is providing single-session therapy (brief therapy), individual therapy (traditional, long-term therapy), group therapy, and assessment services. While on internship, Libby continues to gain additional, specialized training in working with individuals experiencing challenges associated with ADHD, anxiety, interpersonal relationships (family, friends, romantic), life transitions, perfectionism, self-esteem, self-harm, and suicide.
