Dr. Shouse is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, licensed in both Kentucky and Ohio. She earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Xavier University. Her clinical course work centered on child and adolescent psychology as well as the psychology of persons with severe mental disabilities. Dr. Shouse completed her pre-doctoral internship at Ohio University Counseling and Psychological Services. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Health Services as well as with Associates in Behavioral Consultation.
Dr. Shouse has extensive experience working with the young- and middle-age adult populations; her areas of expertise are eating disorders, intentional self-injury, depression and anxiety. However, she is also very passionate about working with adolescents, with the LGBTQ population, as well as with a wide array of psychological problems (e.g. mood, interpersonal and adjustment issues). Dr. Shouse has experience with individual, couples and group therapy modalities. She also has significant experience conducting psychological, personality, ADHD and learning disability evaluations. Dr. Shouse takes primarily an integrative approach to therapy; she combines aspects of interpersonal and systems therapy while relying heavily on cognitive-behavioral techniques to bring about adaptive change. Dr. Shouse also has experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
