Amber Smith, CSW, enjoys working with teens (13 and up) and adult clients from various background and helps them in treating a wide variety of problems/issues. Her current professional interests include working with clients who are experiencing substance abuse/addiction, anxiety, depression, grief and trauma/PTSD. Amber earned her Bachelors in Social Work from Northern Kentucky University in 2018 and her Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville in 2020, graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors with both degrees. She has experience with both individual and group (IOP) counseling for adults managing substance use disorders, as well as working with children, adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of mental health disorders. |
Amber takes pride in her ability to empathize and meet her clients where they are, tailoring her approach to meet each client's needs. Her therapeutic approach is person-centered, using treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Training, Psycho-education, and Strength-Based Therapy.
